Every result here comes from multiplying or dividing your entered value by one of these constants, so the math stays consistent no matter which direction you convert.

Most errors trace back to the starting unit rather than the arithmetic. Going from square feet to square meters follows a different path than square yards to square meters, so confirm what you're entering before you trust the output. Acres also dwarf any flooring unit, which is why a land figure can look wildly larger than the room-sized numbers you may be used to.

  4. 4 16.72 square meters is the net floor area of the room. Add the waste allowance your installer or the flooring maker recommends for cuts before you place the order.
